House cleanouts in St. Clair County: what we see and how we work
St. Clair County is a different kind of cleanout than the Detroit suburbs. Along Lake Huron and the St. Clair River you have cottages and year-round lake homes in Fort Gratiot, Lakeport, St. Clair, Marine City and Algonac, many of them seasonal and many of them owned by heirs who live out of state. Inland, around Kimball, Wales, Capac, Yale and Memphis, you have acreage, outbuildings and pole barns that hold the heaviest junk on the property: old equipment, tires, scrap and fifty years of a workshop. In Port Huron and Marysville the housing is older, often two-story frame homes on narrow lots with detached garages off an alley.
We plan St. Clair County jobs so one trip does it. Our crew is based in Warren, roughly an hour down I-94, so we quote from your photos, confirm the price at the house on a day that works for you, and schedule the dumpster and the labor together so the property is empty and swept at the end of the visit. If you are settling a parent's home from Ohio, Florida or Arizona, we can work from a lockbox and send photos when it is done. Boats, trailers and vehicles are not junk to us: if there is one in the garage, our vehicle sales side can sell it instead of hauling it.
As an estate sale company we also know that a lot of Blue Water homes hold real value: antiques, maritime pieces, tools and collections built over generations. We look at your photos with that in mind. If a sale would pay you more than a cleanout costs, we will say so and quote the sale. If not, you get one flat price for the cleanout, with the dumpster, hauling, labor and disposal all in it.
What we take
- Furniture, mattresses, appliances and TVs
- Boxes, clothing, books, dishes and decades of basement storage
- Garage, shed and pole-barn contents, tools and scrap
- Carpet, small demolition debris and yard junk
- Whatever is left after an estate sale or a tenant leaves
What we cannot put in the dumpster
- Hazardous waste, chemicals and liquid paint. We point you to the county household hazardous waste program
- Propane tanks, fuel and car batteries
- Asbestos and medical waste
- Anything you want to keep: set it aside before we start
Not sure about something? Photograph it and ask. If the house turns out to be full of good stuff rather than junk, we will say so, because an estate sale can pay you instead of costing you.
How pricing works
One flat price, quoted from your photos
No hourly meter, no per-yard math and no surprise line items. Send wide shots of each room or space plus anything big or heavy, and Will or Casey call you back with a single price that covers the dumpster, the hauling, the labor and the disposal. We confirm it in person before any work starts, and once you sign, that is the price. It only changes if you add to the job, and we price the addition before we do it.

Questions from St. Clair County families
Good to know
Which parts of St. Clair County do you cover?
All of it: Port Huron, Marysville, Fort Gratiot, St. Clair, Marine City, Algonac, Lakeport, Lexington on the county line, Kimball, Wales, Capac, Yale, Memphis and the rural townships in between.
Do you charge extra for the drive from Warren?
Travel is built into your one flat price. You see one number for the whole job before we start and that is what you pay.
Can you clean out a lake cottage while I am out of state?
Yes. Many St. Clair County clients are heirs living in another state. We quote from your photos, confirm by phone, work from a lockbox or a neighbor's key, and send photos when the cottage is empty.
What about the barn and the equipment in it?
Pole barns and outbuildings are part of the job. Photograph the inside and anything large or heavy and we will include it in the price. Running equipment, boats and vehicles may be worth selling, and we will tell you if so.
